Hippies have gotten a bad rap in modern history.

They have been written off as dope smoking, unwashed, freeloading “flower children”. They have not been given due credit for helping break the stranglehold of materialism, social inequity, and the military/industrial complex.

Many, if not most, were soon co-opted by the mainstream of the “American Dream”.

But a few persevered… they are old now and dying.

They deserve some love.
